Hello and welcome back to another interesting episode of Holistic Happiness Club. In this episode, we are going to dive deep into the topic of how you can find your passion and purpose and how you can live your life according to your passion. I have done a similar episode in which I have talked about how you can find your purpose of life. But I understand that some of the people have this problem that they know what is their purpose, or at least that they know that what their heart wants, but they are not able to align their life according to their purpose. So in this episode, we are going to recap how you can find your passion and purpose of life and how you can start living your life according to your passion and purpose. So stay tuned till the very end because every step of this is very crucial. Every step of this whole episode is going to give you some different perspective, alright? So stay tuned till the very end because finding a purpose and living with the purpose in life comes with numerous, numerous benefits. All right, so we will get into the discussion in a minute. But before that, I want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for choosing to tune into holistic happiness club, for choosing to spend next few minutes with me, and special thank you to all those who choose to tune into holistic happiness club every single week. It is your commitment and it is your investment of time that keeps the holistic happiness club going. That gives me the motivation, that gives me the fuel to come up with something interesting every single week. And it is my commitment, it is my promise to you that I will try to give you the maximum value of the time that you are going to invest in holistic happiness club. Thank you so much. And without further delay, let's dive into the episode of the day. Hi, my name is Akshay Tiwari. I'm a holistic happiness coach, author of the book named Usher, and founder of Holistic Happiness Club. Holistic Happiness Club is the place where we talk about happiness holistically. We understand that happiness is not a single faceted thing. It is a multifaceted thing. And that is why we need to look at happiness from a different, different perspective, from 360 degree angles, okay? We understand that happiness is everything that is there in our life has a relationship with our happiness. And that is why we need to talk about everything that is there in our life, be it health, be it wealth, be it career or business, be it relationship, etcetera, etcetera. And that is why we try to incorporate all the topics in holistic happiness club. More about me and more about holistic Happiness club at the end of the episode. For now, let's dive into the discussion. Alright, so let's dive into the topic of the day that how to find your passion and purpose and how to live your life according to that. But before that, just have a quick look. That why we need to find the purpose and the passion. What is the benefit? The thing is that numerous studies have shown time and again that if you want to live a fulfilled life, if you want to live a happy life, having a sense of purpose. Having a sense of passion is a crucial factor in that. I'm not saying that it is the only factor. And until and unless you do not have a purpose and passion in your life, you cannot live a happy life. There are other things that contributes to your happiness and to your fulfillment. But time and again, as I said, studies have shown the passion and purpose is a very powerful factor, right? It has numerous benefits. It has neurological benefit. It has emotional and physical well being as a benefit. And it can help you develop stronger relationship with people who are sharing your common purpose and your common passion. And it can also increase your productivity in every area of your life. Not in just the area in which your passion lies, but in other areas of your life as well. So you might ask that how having a passion and how having a purpose gives you this emotional and physical health benefits. And how can it increase the productivity. The thing is that when you are purpose driven, when you are working on something that comes from your heart and that comes from your passion, you are living in a good and happy state. The reason is that when you are working on something that where you are driven by passion and purpose, your brain brains center of reward gets activated and your brain releases. Feel good neurotransmitter or you can say chemical in simple terms. So, for example, when you are about to eat your favorite food, or let's say favorite dessert, that time you anticipate that you are going to eat your favorite thing. It's a kind of reward that you are getting, right? So at that time, when you are anticipating that you are going to eat this thing, that time you feel very good. When it is right about to come to you, right? But that time you feel very good. And the reason that you feel very good is that your brain releases dopamine. And in that phase you feel very good. And when you are driven by purpose, your work becomes your reward. So all the time when you are working, your brain feels that you are about to receive some reward. And that keeps you in the uplifted state, in a good mood. And that helps you increase your productivity as well. And that helps you in your emotional well being as well. It improves your mental health and health and therefore your physical health also. And of course it's no, you know, it's no surprise that people who share the common goals with them, they, you can have a better and stronger relationship as well. Now you might ask that I understand that it will increase my productivity in the area in, in which my passion lies, in which my purpose lies. But how it will increase the, how it will increase the productivity in the areas where my passion does not lie. So let's say that I am working in a job and I also have a passion to teach poor kids, right? So I do that after job. So how it will increase my productivity at the job, which I might not like that much. Alright, so I hear you. But the thing is that we all have 24 hours. So in order to squeeze, squeeze the maximum thing, get maximum thing done in that 24 hours, what you will do, you will prioritize the main things that needs to be done, right. And that increases the productivity. You will try to do things much faster so that you can carve some time out for your passion and purpose. And that will lead to increasing the productivity, productivity in other areas of your life as well. Because of course, you do not want to leave unfulfilled in the other areas of your life as well, right? So that will, that feeling will increase your productivity overall. And of course, in, in the area where you're, in the work where your passion and purpose lies, of course your productivity, productivity will be ten x or hundred x, if not hundred x, at least ten x. All right, so that's the science of fulfillment that is related with having a passion and purpose. Now let's find out. Let's find out that how we can find our passion and purpose. So the step, number one in our, in finding the passion or the purpose is to understand your core values, understand your own self, understand that how you are driven and understanding where your heart lies. Alright? So how you can do that, how you can do that, you can do that. Bye. Two things. There are multiple, multiple ways and I teach that in, in my inner transformation bootcamp as well. But I will tell you one simple one. You can, what you can do is you can write down your experiences, the moments when you feel good or when you felt bad, okay? And write down about those experiences. And then, so it's kind of a sine wave map that you are creating of your life. Some event when you are feeling very good and when you are feeling high and then some event that made you feel not so good or I can say that that made you feel bad. Alright? So in, in those moments, okay, what were the things, what were the values of that were making you feel good or making you feel bad? So, for example, so let's say that in my life, I have this one event where when I help someone, or let's say a blind person to help cross the street, okay? And at that moment I felt very, very good. So what can I draw from this event that may be helping people gives me a very good feeling. So maybe helping people is one of my core values. When I help people in return, if I'm get, if I'm getting something, maybe that does not matter that much. But helping people is one of my core values. So let's tweak this example a little bit. So let's say that this blind man was a rich man, okay? And when I help that person cross the street, this person gave me some money and that made me happy. So then in that case, helping the person was not, maybe it was not my core value. I need to look it in a deeper aspect. I need to go deeper within myself. And maybe I might be having this reward as my core value, right? I might be money driven. So you need to look, you need to give a crucial and critical look into the highs and lows of your life. And then you need to find out what were the values which were being expressed in your highs and what were the values which were missing in your lows. So that might be your core values. You need to refine it further as well. But it will take some time, but it will give you pretty good idea that what are your core values, right? And second thing is that you need to check on yourself that what are your guiding principles. So when you are taking on some opportunity, when you are making some decision, what you look for. So if you have to pick up a job, what do you look into the job? If you have to start a business, what do you look into that business? What drives you? What helps you make that decision? Right? So all this question, when you will, when you start writing the answers to this question, and don't write just one line or two line, try to write one half page at least, okay? When you write that much, you will start finding that there are finer nuances other than just the money and the payment that you like in a job, right? Maybe you like dignity, maybe you like recognition, maybe you like that respect that you get in that job or in that business for that matter. So that might be your driving factors. So once you find these common values in your guiding principles and your experiences of life. They are your core values. They are your drivers. They are your motivators. Okay? You are driven by those values. All right? For example, if you take, when you take up a job, I will, I will probably look at that, how much time this job will give me for my family, okay? How much. How much I will be able to contribute in my family's decision and how much I will be able to contribute in my family's well being. So one of the driving factor for me is family, right? So likewise, you need to find your own, okay? So that is your core belief. Youre. That, that. That is real you, okay, you need to find your own self. What. Where you from, where you are driven. So, for example, for some people, honesty might be very, very high priority. For other people, honesty might not be that high priority. If they have to choose between honesty and something else, they might choose something else. It's not like that they don't like honesty or they are not the honest person. So. But it's like that there is something else, like helping other people that might be more important to them than just being honest. All right? So likewise, you need to find your own values. That's the crux of this whole thing, that you need to find your own core values. And then we will go to the next step. First you will. When you will find your core values, then you need to come to the next step, which is discovering your unique talents and strength. Okay? So you need to identify where your strength lies. You need to reflect on the activities that energize you and the skills that come naturally to you. Okay? Why? It is important. So you might discover that working to, working towards and working for mother nature is one of the passion that you have, all right? And another passion you might be having teaching poor kids and teaching the underprivileged kids, okay? And now, now when you look at your own strength, then you might find that you are very good in teaching, okay? So in this area, you might do, you might excel better than the other area. Of course, both are your passion, but in one area, you are, you have a strength and you can do better than the other area. And of course, when you are teaching, you can spread awareness about your. About the environment and about protecting the nature. Or if you have only found one passion, like protecting the environment is your passion, and your strength lies in speaking, in communicating. Your strength is not going into the nature and planting trees and taking care of them single handedly. Maybe that's not your strength. Your strength is in speaking. So what you can do, you can spread awareness about protecting the environment and protecting the mother earth, right? So that is why it is very important to identify your strength. Because in every area there will be so many things that you can do. For example, if your passion is a sports, let's say cricket. So there are multiple things that you can do in cricket. Maybe you can become a batsman, you can become a bowler and you can become wicketkeeper batsman. Or maybe you can become. If your strength is in like physiotherapy, you can become a very good physio and help people do good in cricket, right? That is also one way of contributing in that sports, right? So you need to identify your unique strength and you need to apply your strength into that particular passion. Okay? You cannot do everything and that is why we, we need a team. And you need to become a team player with your own strength. And if you are having a little difficult time and finding your own strength, then you can seek feedback. But remember, you seek feedback only from very, very trusted people to whom you trust, to whose words you can, you can very well trust. But I will say that you do not rely too much on the feedback because it's not about them. It's not about what they see in you. It is about how you see yourself. But it's okay if there are very, very trusted friend you can seek for the feedback. But I would say that don't get demoralized and don't get too high hopes, just basis on feedback. You need to internalize that thing. You need, you need to find your strengths. Strength that is coming from within. Alright? So in another way that how you can find your strength, if you are still confused, you can explore new, new experiences and on a very small scale, don't, don't go all out. So let's say if you want to protect nature, don't go out and just start a new forest altogether. Plant one tree or start aware. Start spreading awareness about the environment, right? Start small and see how you are feeling about them, how things are coming to you and how things are turning and unfolding in front of you. Experience those things and that will tell you what is your strength, what is not, right? So that is. So the first step was to identify your own core values. And second step is identify your unique talents and strength that you can apply in that particular area, right? So that these two steps will help you find your passion and your purpose. Now before I go ahead and go ahead any further, I have a very special request to you and the request is that if you are enjoying this discussion and if you have listened this far, I'm sure that you are enjoying this discussion. Please like this video, please share this video and please subscribe to the channel because this will help me spread this word to more and more people. And please also share this with other people to whom you think that they should listen to this podcast. Alright, thank you so much. This was my special request and let's now move forward to the rest of the theme. Now we have understood that how you are going to find your purpose, okay, now you need to finding the purpose, it's just one step. You need to apply that into your own daily life. Now, some of us are very lucky. Some of us are doing the job in which our passion and purpose lies. But some of us, most of us are not that lucky, right? Our passion is something different and our jobs are something different. And we cannot leave the job because jobs provide for the family. They provide the bread and butter, all right? And if you can leave the job and if you can make your living by following your passion, nothing better than that. But it does not happen overnight. You need to sustain for some time. If you are planning to do something related to your passion, okay? And sometime the passion can be nonprofit as well, then what we will do then you cannot live forever on donation. You need to volunteer for something. But at the same time you need to have a job to provide for yourself and provide for the family and sometime provide for the passion as well. So what you need to do in this case, in this case now, you need to prioritize your day to day tasks, okay? You need to prioritize the most important things that are there in the day and you need to focus your energy only on those things so that you can save your energy and you can at the same time you can finish most important stuff. Plus, with the saved energy and saved time, you can focus on the, on your passion, on your purpose, on your vision. Okay? Second thing that you need to do is you need to eliminate distraction. It is often required that for some time, at least in the beginning and in many cases for much more, longer time, you need to sacrifice a lot on your entertainment, on your fun and recreational activity because that is the time from where you can juice out the maximum amount of time to work on your passion. I'm not saying that should be the case always, but that happens to be the case in most of the time. But at the same time, you need to take care of yourself. You need to take care of these fun and recreational activities as well. So sometime sacrificing them for some time, it's good, but it should not be the forever thing. You need to find time for yourself. So prioritize things. First thing. Second thing is you need to eliminate distractions and anything that you are doing, like mindlessly scrolling on social media. You need to say bye bye to these things which are time killer, which are productivity killer and which are nothing. Adding any kind of value into your life, right? So you need to say bye bye to these things. So you need to eliminate distractions. And also the third thing that you can do is develop new habits. About what? About maximizing your productivity. About automating many of the tasks that can be automated or maybe developing a habit of outsourcing the task where you can buy some time for yourself and that time you can donate, or that time you can engage with your passion and purpose, okay? Or develop new habits so that on a daily basis you are doing something for your passion. Develop new habits regarding your passion. So let's say your vision, your passion is to end the hunger in the world on a daily basis. You cannot go out in the whole world and you can end the world, end the world hunger. But on a daily basis you can feed at least one person, right? You can go out on the street and you can find someone who is hungry. And if you spend in a country like India or some developing countries, if you spend half an hour on the street, you will find someone who is, who is needy and you can give some food to that person that you can do on almost daily basis. And in a month time, at least you can find one person who share your vision. So that after one month, there is not one person, but two people going out and looking after for looking and taking care of two people's hunger, right? Slowly you can build your network. Slowly you can work your way up in towards your visions. Okay? I'm not saying this is the only way, but what I'm trying to give you is that you need to find a miniature version of your grand vision that you can do on a daily basis, or at least on a regular basis, all right? So that is what you need to do. You need to prioritize that what you are already doing, so that you can squeeze the maximum productive thing in less amount of time. And then you need to eliminate the distraction so that you can carve some time out for your passion and your purpose. Okay? Next thing is. See, when you start working on your passion and purpose, it is inevitable that you will face setbacks. Because all of our life we have been doing something which is of textbook kind of thing, that go to school, study, get a job, and blah, blah, blah. Now, when you start listening to your heart, so far we have been listening to our head. Whatever we were supposed to do, we were doing that. All right? When you start listening to your heart and you start working according to your heart, it is inevitable that you face setbacks. Today, tomorrow, day after tomorrow, whenever you will face setbacks. But what you need to do, you need to develop a growth mindset. You need to find opportunities, and you need to reframe your perspective. And you need to see those setbacks as opportunity for learning and adding something to your progress, okay? And if needed, you can seek support from people, from like minded people, and you can develop your own mastermind group and who can help you in these times when you are facing some setbacks. And of course, see, life is uncertain, there will be things that are not planned. There is only maybe 0.1% things that are in your hand. Maybe sometime 1%. That's it. Every other thing that is not in your hand. So you can only do so much which is in your control. So embrace uncertainty, because that's the nature of life. That's the nature of future uncertainty. Future is uncertain. What will come next that only future knows, that only time knows. So you need to embrace it, okay? It can be good. It can be a good result for you. It can be a setback. You need to learn from those setbacks. Right. All right. And also you need to cultivate meaningful relationships and connection. Why? Because these are the people who will help you make your vision grand, who will help you grow and who will help you at the time of setbacks. So you need to build your own tribe. And when you build this kind of tribe who share your values, they are a wonderful, wonderful support at each and every level. You can support them, you can inspire them and you can get inspired from them as well. Right? So it is kind of, you give them something and you receive something from them. Okay? So you need to build your own tribe where you can thrive with them, where you can grow with them. Okay? So cultivate those relationships, those connections who share the same value. This is the shortcut. This is the fastest way through which you can work on your purpose, through which maybe you can turn your whole life a purposeful life, okay? Having some people around you is the sure shot and the fastest way to achieve anything that you want to achieve in life. All right, so this was the end of the topic of the day. And before I end the episode, I am having some announcement to make. The first announcement, and it says, actually a request that holistic Happiness club is open for membership and membership for holistic Happiness Club is free. You can become a member of holistic Happiness Club for free. The link to join holistic Happiness Club will be given in the description.
